Welcome to the Tree of Life
The goal of the Tree of Life is to help people help themselves. Achieving a positive, lasting change and a more conscious life through yoga, healthy eating and conversations on inner health. You decide whether you want to combine yoga, healthy eating and conversations or if you only need one of the elements.
My name is Gitte Lindgaard. I was born in 1977. I’m married and I have two children. I’ve always had a passion for helping other people and make a difference for others. In 2002 I started working at the National Association for Eating Disorders; this was after completing an internal training. I worked as a counselor, group leader and lecturer.
Food and the psychology behind eating fascinated me so much, so I decided to take a Bachelor in Health and Nutrition from Suhr College specializing in communications. Besides my education, I have taken many courses in therapeutic conversation techniques, conflict resolution, coaching, personal development and more.
I started with Yoga in 2009 after I had been hit by a car and was diagnosed with whiplash. There was not really anything that helped and after 8 months lying sick in bed, I tried yoga as a last resort. I started practicing yoga at home on the living room floor. The effect was overwhelming and when I had recovered, I began to educate myself and immerse myself in yoga. I started giving private lessons to people with disabilities and injuries. Later I gave lessons at physiotherapy centers and gyms. I am a qualified yoga teacher from the United States and in Denmark, where I have a restorative yoga teacher training.
